Your deck is a colony
Build a deck around a queen, then start a colony from it. Every card hatches as an ant that walks the map on its own: through tunnels, across the surface and up into the trees.

Aphid farmers, slave-makers, social parasites, army ants, repletes, ants that play dead and majors that plug the nest with their heads.

Every card is a species
Each card is a real ant with its own stats and abilities, drawn by hand. More species arrive with every series.
Temnothorax ambiguus
Lives in acorns and twigs, spreads over several nests and climbs trees twice as fast.
Colobopsis impressa
Its majors have flat, plug-shaped heads that seal the nest entrance against raiders.
Nylanderia bourbonica
A fast, many-nested crazy ant whose queen speeds up the whole colony.
Lasius niger
The black garden ant: herds aphids and lives on their sugar.
Lasius claviger
A social parasite: its queen kills a host queen and takes over her workers.
Brachymyrmex depilis
Tiny and quick to grow: its colonies start with an extra-large first brood.
